Aquinas Students create Physics Podcast on Cutting-Edge Research at Queen's
Two Year 14 students, Gerard Higgins and Jack Hughes, in collaboration with the School of Education and the Physics Department at Queen's University, Belfast, have produced a Physics podcast.

The 'fodder' for the podcast came from visits to the postgraduate research facility at Queen's where the students had the opportunity to interview Dr. Bob McCullough, Head of Atomic and Nuclear Physics, on a postgraduate research project looking at the ionisation of DNA by the interaction of charged particles. The pupils have developed skills in podcast creation using podcasting software, researched the place of science in the media, had a unique insight into how physics research is conducted, and worked hard at finding ways to make physics knowledge accessible to others.
This initiative is a pilot project through the School of Education, Queen's University, Belfast, who are looking more closely at the potential of podcasting in education. Feedback of our experiences of the project have been relayed to the School of Education.
