Year 11 Geography Fieldwork
Basking in sunshine and high spirits, our Year 11 Geography students recently enjoyed a fantastic field trip to the River Shimna. With clear skies and warm weather, it was the perfect setting for hands-on learning about river processes, data collection, and the natural beauty of our local environment. A fun fact: the River Shimna is home to some incredibly rare plant life, including the Portuguese feather-moss and Holt’s mouse-tail moss—making it an officially designated Area of Special Scientific Interest (ASSI) This trip was also a poignant one, as it marked Mr. Leneghan’s final field trip before his retirement. His enthusiasm for geography and dedication to outdoor education have left a lasting impact on countless students. We thank him sincerely for his years of service and wish him a joyful and fulfilling retirement.
